About

I am Professor of Global Politics and Sustainable Development in the School of Government, University of Birmingham.

My research looks at the global politics of human rights and sustainable development. I study how the intersection of domestic and international politics shapes human rights, development, and climate-related outcomes. I am also the Co-Chair of the Public and Political Engagement Working Group of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change

I joined the School of Government at the University of Birmingham in 2016 (based in the International Development Department). Prior to this, I was a Research Fellow with the Developmental Leadership Program (DLP) in the Department of Political, University College London. I have a PhD in Political Science from University College London (UCL). Prior to this I worked for the United Nations Development Programme.

My academic CV is available here, and my Google Scholar profile can be found here.
