About

I am Professor of Global Politics and Sustainable Development in the School of Government, University of Birmingham.

My research looks at how politics shapes human wellbeing in an unequal and rapidly changing world. I study how the intersection of domestic and international politics shapes human rights, development, and climate-related outcomes. I am also the Co-Chair of the Public and Political Engagement Working Group of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change

I joined the School of Government at the University of Birmingham in 2016 (based in the International Development Department). Prior to this, I was a Research Fellow with the Developmental Leadership Program (DLP) in the Department of Political, University College London. I have a PhD in Political Science from University College London (UCL). Prior to this I worked for the United Nations Development Programme.

My academic CV is available here, and my Google Scholar profile can be found here.
